MIDAS students make Murals out of Waste Bottles

MIDAS- Marg Institute of Design and Architecture Swarnabhoomi, students have created Wall Murals out of waste bottles as a part of Theory of Architecture studio program. More than 10 murals were created with specific themes and colors and as groups. The murals will be part of "Year End Student Work" exhibition at Lalith Kala Akademi from 3rd to 8th July 2012.

MARG INSTITUTE OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE SWARNABHOOMI, affiliated to Anna University is a unique institution to think differently in "Architecture". Packed with intellectual programs, MIDAS makes a student to think logically at the very beginning of the course. The strength of MIDAS is the "Foundation Course" in the 1st and 2nd Semester which is uniquely formulated to instigate "Thinking". We want to make "Architects" and only "Architects" and we want them to be strong in History, Theory and Criticism.

Jaffer's Virtual lecture in ToA at MIDAS 22-5-2012

Prof.Jaffer AA Khan Professor and Director at MIDAS conducted a Virtual lecture at MIDAS on the "Understanding of 20th Century Modern Architecture". The lecture traced the development of modern theories in the evolution of architectural thought process and the impact on society. The lecture was 2hrs long with a break and was done through "Skype" arrangements.

Villa for Thottatharani-Art Director at Swarnabhoomi by MIDAS Students

The students of Marg Institute of Design and Architecture Swarnabhoomi were given an academic project in architecture to design a Villa for Thottatharani an eminent Art Director in Chennai. The out come of this were 56 models and plans depicting ideas and thoughts to enliven the art director's life. The project will be part of the "MIDAS-Exhibition" during July at Lalit Kala Akademi Chennai.
